I wish you could too, anon. I could use one.

Why did you name your cat Olivia?

I really liked the name, honestly. It was going to be the name of my first daughter but I was in a phase where I was going, “I’ll never have kids, might as well have a fur baby instead.”

Also, Olivia Benson.

can we get a picture of you right now?

tell us a story about your cat, please?

Today was the hottest day of the year so far, and Olivia is a long-haired cat, so she was suffering in the heat all day. I normally shear her using a pair of kitchen scissors, which makes her look a little mangey and ridiculous for a few months, but it helps during the summer months. Instead of using the scissors this time, I used the electric hair clippers I bought when I gave myself the undercut last month.

She wasn’t scared of it really, but the buzzing bothered her so wouldn’t sit still for long enough that I could shave anything significant. It ended up patchy and mangey, just like with the scissors. But once she realized that she felt cooler after the shaving, she walked back over to me and sat down, and sat perfectly still while I shaved her sides and back smooth.

She’s so smart.

Hey Sara, so are you a true blood fan? Or maybe Californication?

I watch True Blood, even though I desperately hate 90% of the characters. Never seen Californication, mostly because it looks like a privileged white man enjoying sex with vapid white women in an upperclass society where they have nothing but rich white people problems.

1) what is your favorite color (oooooh original)? 2) what were your favorite subjects in high school? 3) favorite Subway sandwich?

1) Any shade of blue except true blue.

2) English, history and philosophy

3) Toasted 6” Spicy Italian on Wheat with provolone, lettuce, and pickles

how's that writing coming along? i can't really specify which, but i know you've tweeted about writing scenes and all that.

It’s rough. Very, very rough. I can’t seem to get this one part finished, despite having a complete outline. I just can’t focus.

And I have so many other things I want to work on, but I HAVE to finish this before I can move on.

What did you get up to today? :)

Today I slept in and then went to Coney Island by myself, because all of my friends had other plans. I sat on the beach and bought a funnel cake and ate the whole fucking thing because I could.

We grew up with the Internet and on the Internet. This is what makes us different; this is what makes the crucial, although surprising from your point of view, difference: we do not ‘surf’ and the internet to us is not a ‘place’ or ‘virtual space’. The Internet to us is not something external to reality but a part of it: an invisible yet constantly present layer intertwined with the physical environment. We do not use the Internet, we live on the Internet and along it. If we were to tell our bildnungsroman to you, the analog, we could say there was a natural Internet aspect to every single experience that has shaped us. We made friends and enemies online, we prepared cribs for tests online, we planned parties and studying sessions online, we fell in love and broke up online. The Web to us is not a technology which we had to learn and which we managed to get a grip of. The Web is a process, happening continuously and continuously transforming before our eyes; with us and through us. Technologies appear and then dissolve in the peripheries, websites are built, they bloom and then pass away, but the Web continues, because we are the Web; we, communicating with one another in a way that comes naturally to us, more intense and more efficient than ever before in the history of mankind.
